MSM Record of the Week

15th June 2026 – LATEST RECORD OF THE WEEK – CLICK HERE

Introduction

Every week at Music Scene Magazine we select one track, album, EP or live recording that has captured our attention and earns the title of Record of the Week.

This isn’t based on chart positions, marketing budgets, streaming numbers or industry hype.

It’s about music that makes us stop what we’re doing and listen.

Sometimes it will be a brand-new release from an emerging artist. Sometimes it might be a track we’ve discovered through our gig reviews, band submissions or late-night musical rabbit holes. It could be rock, blues, indie, folk, funk, soul, jazz, punk or something that refuses to fit neatly into a genre box.

Think We’ve Missed One?

Music is subjective, and that’s exactly how we like it.

Every week we choose a Record of the Week based on what we’ve been listening to, reviewing, discovering and discussing, but we’re always keen to hear what our readers think deserves the spotlight.

Have you discovered an incredible new band?

Found a hidden gem that more people should hear?

Got a favourite track that stops you in your tracks every time it comes on?

If so, tell us about it.

Send us the artist name, track title, a link to where we can listen, and most importantly, tell us why it matters. Is it the songwriting? The guitar solo? The lyrics? The production? The memories it creates? The story behind the band? MESSAGE US

We don’t care whether the artist has ten monthly listeners or ten million.

If the music is great, we want to hear it.

Use our submission form to send us your suggestions and you might just see your recommendation featured as a future Music Scene Magazine Record of the Week.

Because great music deserves to be shared.

What matters is simple:

Does it move us?

A great record can make you dance, think, smile, laugh, remember, question, or simply hit the replay button one more time.

Each Record of the Week features a full write-up from the Music Scene Magazine team, exploring not just what the music sounds like, but why it stands out. We’ll look at the musicianship, songwriting, production, influences, atmosphere and those little details that make a record special.

Some weeks you’ll discover your next favourite band.

Other weeks you’ll find an old gem you missed the first time around.

Either way, the aim is the same:

To celebrate great music and help connect artists with new listeners.

So put the kettle on, pour a pint, turn the volume up and dive in.

Welcome to Record of the Week.
